Building the Future: Peter Boulware Toyota Hosts Mini Makers Garage for Local Students

That spirit came to life when we partnered with Toyota Lexus Minority Owners Dealership Association (TL-MODA) and Toyota Motor North America to host an unforgettable Mini Makers Garage event.

On August 20, 35 students from the Boys & Girls Club of the Big Bend stepped onto our showroom floor, donned hard hats and Toyota coveralls, and became engineers for the day. Their mission? Build their very own Toyota GR86 model piece by piece.

A Hands-On Learning Experience

The Mini Makers Garage event was not just about cars. It was about sparking curiosity and confidence. Students learned teamwork, problem-solving, and the basics of vehicle assembly, all while having fun in a safe, supportive environment. Guided by our team and Toyota representatives, each child experienced what it is like to be part of the automotive world.

These workshops are part of a nationwide TL-MODA initiative to inspire young minds and introduce them to future career opportunities in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM).
