Meet the Dealer: Peter Boulware

Father, husband, Super Bowl champion, legislative candidate, business owner, philanthropist. Peter Boulware has worn many hats over the years, but he's never forgotten his roots, nor has he forgotten what it means to work hard and succeed. A Seminole at heart, Tallahassee has given plenty of opportunities and support to Peter Boulware over the years, and so Peter decided to return the support by putting his blood, sweat, and tears into his business. Enter Peter Boulware Toyota of Tallahassee, a brand-new venture that will allow Peter and his team of Tallahassee locals to give back to the community that has taken care of him for the last 30 years.

His History in Football

Peter Boulware began his journey to making Tallahassee his home when he accepted a scholarship to play at FSU as part of Bobby Bowden's prestige-winning Seminoles. Under coach Bowden, Peter learned many of the skills that would take him on to be a Super Bowl Champion. While a linebacker for the Seminoles, Peter set a school record for sacks at 19, he won ACC Defensive Player of the Year and National Defensive Player of the Year, earning him a first-round draft position in the NFL with the Baltimore Ravens, and fourth overall pick that year.

During his first year with the Ravens, Peter would take home the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year award. And for the next eight years of his career with the Ravens, he would help his team go onto four Pro Bowls, set a franchise record for sacks, and take home the XXXV Super Bowl ring against the New York Giants.

Giving Back to the Community

Bobby Bowden instilled in Peter drive, passion, but more than anything else, the desire to make his community better. While playing for the Baltimore Ravens, Peter founded the Peter Boulware Charitable Foundation, sponsored 16 youth tackle teams, was a spokesperson for the NFL's “Punt, Pass & Kick”, and hosted children at "Camp Sunrise" alongside the American Cancer Society. When he came back to Florida, his efforts never ceased to make his community better.

That is why he continues to this day to carry on the message that Bobby Bowden taught him, "People will forget your stats, they'll forget the games. The thing you want to be remembered for the most is not what you did on the football field, but what impact did you make off the field. Are people better, is your town better, or are your employees better because you were there?"
