Peter Boulware Toyota Teams Up with The Salvation Army & TL-MODA to Equip Tallahassee Students for Success

At Peter Boulware Toyota, giving back to the community isn’t just something we say—it’s something we do. On Saturday, August 2, 2025, we proudly hosted a local Back-to-School Backpack Giveaway in partnership with The Salvation Army of Tallahassee and the Toyota Lexus Minority Owners Dealership Association (TL-MODA), ensuring students across Leon County are ready to learn and thrive this school year.

A Community United to Support Local Families

We were one of 66 Toyota and Lexus dealerships across the country participating in this nationwide effort, with a total of 16,900 backpacks distributed nationwide—and 100 right here in Tallahassee.

Each backpack was thoughtfully packed with school essentials—pencils, notebooks, folders, and age-appropriate supplies—along with a $10 Walmart gift card to help ease the financial burden for families.

“Every child deserves to start school feeling prepared and confident,” said Lieutenant Omar Lugo of The Salvation Army of Tallahassee. “Thanks to this partnership with Peter Boulware Toyota and TL-MODA, we’re helping families in our area equip their children for a strong start.”

Local Impact, Real Support

This is about more than school supplies—it’s about uplifting the next generation. From Toyota Motor North America volunteers to our own dealership team, we came together to show that Tallahassee students have a community that believes in them.

A Continuing Commitment to Tallahassee

This initiative is part of a broader effort by TL-MODA to support underserved communities through education. Since its inception, TL-MODA has donated over $2 million toward programs that empower youth, foster opportunity, and drive positive change.

In addition to this event, The Salvation Army of Tallahassee continues to serve the local community year-round through food distribution, utility assistance, crisis support, and more.
