Toyota Highlander Platinum Performance Features

Powertrain Features

Whipping out 265 horsepower, a 2.4-liter engine block propels the 2023 Toyota Highlander Limited and Platinum. This turbocharged powertrain develops up to 310 pound-feet of torque at various tachometer levels. Direct injection sends gasoline into this four-cylinder engine. Precisely following the Atkinson cycle, this turbo engine is incredibly efficient. An eight-speed automatic transmission system works with the I-4 powerhouse. Built on the proprietary Direct Shift architecture, this gearbox is properly synced with the Dynamic Torque Vectoring AWD system. Four modes, including Snow and Sport, are available from the Drive Mode Select interface. Both Toyota SUVs also have additional settings from the Multi-Terrain Select module, including the Rock & Dirt. These full-size vehicles can tow 5,000 gross pounds as measured by the SAE J2807 method. Both models have other robust mechanical items, like a trailing-wishbone suspension system and 13.3-inch brakes.

Additional protection is provided by a scuff plate on this exposed component. Both SUVs have black paint on the front grille. A chrome plate adds some unique styling to the Platinum’s front grille. These three-row Toyota models also have a rear spoiler with a high-mount stop light. A chrome finish is standard on the Limited’s 20-inch wheels. The Platinum has conventional alloy wheels with an identical diameter. Both trims boast many premium interior installations, like leather-appointed front seats with ventilation, heating, and power adjustments. An ambient lighting system delivers a gentle glow inside the cabins of these spacious SUVs. You’ll love the touch of chrome on the interior door handles. Faux wood is applied to the dash trimming for additional appeal. Additionally, the Platinum has illuminated scuff plates near the front doors.
