Performance Features
Displacing approximately 3.5 liters, the 2023 Toyota Sequoia’s i-FORCE MAX system is a force to be reckoned with. This all-new powerhouse spits nearly 440 net horsepower thanks to potent twin turbochargers. Cranking out over 580 pound-feet of torque, the hybrid system is virtually unrivaled in the American marketplace. Of course, additional credit should be given to an electric motor and a NI-MH battery pack rated at roughly 1.9 kWh. This full-size Toyota SUV boasts a class-leading trailering capacity that exceeds the 9,500-pound mark. Splashing into the market for the first time, the 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander’s Hybrid Max powertrain delivers just above 360 net hp and up to 400 lb-ft of torque. You can tow 5,000 pounds with this efficient propulsion system. A turbocharged 2.4-L engine is the main mechanical component in this all-new powerhouse. When acting alone, the I-4 turbo engine delivers 265 hp and 310 lb-ft. A 2.5-L, naturally aspirated engine is available for another hybrid system with a gross rating of 245 hp. Running on a 10-speed automatic transmission, the 2023 Sequoia easily adapts to various conditions. This robust gearbox joins a rear-wheel drive with the Automatic Limited-Slip Differential. If you need greater versatility on the trails, select a model with the 4WDemand system. Similarly, the Dynamic Torque Control AWD helps the 2024 Grand Highlander on rugged landscapes. Both Toyota SUVs also exploit the Multi-Terrain Select with dedicated off-road modes.
Interior Features
The 2023 Toyota Sequoia offers nearly 87 cubic feet of cargo volume behind the front seats. You’ll get approximately eight additional cubic feet of cargo space inside the 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander. Both full-size SUVs boast a tri-zone automatic climate control system with personalized input, air filtration, and other sophisticated features. A power-assisted moonroof is available as a supplemental amenity for climate control. Retractable sunshades are optional in the second row of each vehicle. Additionally, these eight-seat models offer two 120-V AC outlets and a wireless charging system for smartphones.
Technology Features
Taking the form of a sleek tablet, the 2023 Sequoia’s 14-inch infotainment system has better digital capabilities than before. Having a more traditional frame, the 2024 Grand Highlander’s multimedia system also includes a huge touch screen. Both SUVs are packed with the latest and greatest Toyota Connected Services, including Remote Connect and Drive Connect. You’ll easily view helpful information on the 12.3-inch instrument cluster in each vehicle. Similarly, a 10-inch head-up display keeps track of the hybrid powertrain and other settings in real-time.
