What’s New for the 2017 Toyota Tacoma?
The 2017 Toyota Tacoma is the newest make in the Toyota vehicle brand and the latest entry for the Tacoma models. The new Tacoma is basically a small truck that has both on-road and off-road capabilities, meaning it can travel on any terrain while hauling off larger materials. The new model has very few changes for the 2017 but it does have a better power actuation for the sliding rear window and a Pro TRD Trim level returning after being removed from the previous model. As far as the performance of the ride goes, the Tacoma has a fuel rating of 18 MPG through the city and 23 on the highway. The truck runs surprisingly on regular unleaded fuel and has a rear wheel drive-train and a 6-speed automatic vehicle transmission. The engine is capable of producing a 159 horsepower rating at 5,200 wheel revolutions a minute and 180 feet of torque per pound. The truck exterior only comes in a few colors, such as red, black, two shades of grey and white.
To get the most out of the vehicle, the 2017 Toyota Tacoma has been equipped with several unique interior features and safety protocols for all riders to enjoy. As far as features and comfort go, the Tacoma can seat up to four people. Each of the front seats has a 4-way manual seat adjustment setting, being bucket front seats that are decorated in cloth. Some trim models do come equipped with a cruise control setting, with both the cruise and audio controls being placed on the steering wheel. Air conditioning, naturally, is also included in the vehicle for indoor comfort. Front seatback storage is naturally an expectation and the storage section located in the overhead console. Safety is an important aspect that is stressed and one example of this can be found with the inclusion of child seating anchors. Improved stability and traction control are other safety features for the new model as well as front and rear head airbags and dual front side-mounted ones. An engine immobilization system is included in case there is a need to shut the car down, which also includes an emergency braking assist feature in case the brakes do not function properly. A tire pressure monitoring system is equipped especially for when the vehicle is taken off road for rougher terrains.
